EAEU TR 048/2019 postponed again for 3 years
On July 08, 2025 Eurasian Economic Commission’s Board decided to postpone the EAEU technical regulation "On the requirements for the energy efficiency of energy-consuming devices" (EAEU TR 048/2019) to September 1, 2028.
The same EAEU decision postpones the Decisions of the EEC Board, which establishes the forms of labels for energy-consuming devices of various types and the rules for their design to March 1, 2028. Energy efficiency requirements for certain types of products established in Annexes No. 3, 5, 6, 9, 12, 13 and 14 to the technical regulation also have been postponed for three years.
This will make it possible to update EAEU TR requirements and to complete the development and adoption of second-level acts necessary for the implementation of the technical regulations - a list of standards and energy efficiency labels for energy-consuming devices.
In EAEU only Belarus needs mandatory EE approval. Belarus partly renews Energy Efficiency Requirements from January 03, 2025.
Manufacturers (importers) should pass mandatory conformity approval procedure and obtain Belarus certificates of conformity for four groups of products starting from the year of 2025:
- Household refrigeration appliances: refrigerators, freezers and their combinations
- Electric ovens (including those integrated into cookers), with the exception of portable ones and those not equipped with an adjustable thermostat; electric hotplates (including those integrated into cookers), with the exception of portable ones
- Washing machines
- Lamps with non-directional light emission (incandescent lamps, fluorescent lamps, LED lamps)
Belarus Energy Efficiency requirements are still not mandatory for other groups of products from the initial List of products of Resolution 849 (Energy Efficiency, consolidate version) (like air conditioners, dishwashers, external power supplies, televisions, television monitors, household and office equipment). Manufacturers and importers can still obtain voluntary certificates of conformity of Energy Efficiency parameters.
