Uzbekistan. New Technical Regulations on the Safety of Low Voltage Equipment

On October 10, 2025 new Technical Regulations on the Safety of Low Voltage Equipment came into force in Uzbekistan.

Scope

Electric equipment intended to be use at rated voltage from 50 up to 1000 V a.c. and from 75 up to 1500 V d.c.

Out of the scope

  • Used for special technical means of state defense, law enforcement agencies, as well as the system of operational-search measures;
  • transported in transit across the border of the Republic of Uzbekistan, under customs control and not used for the entire period of time in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
  • intended for operation in an explosive environment;
  • intended for use in air, water, land and underground transport;
  • specially designed to ensure safety in the field of atomic energy use;
  • previously used;
  • intended for medical purposes;
  • intended for pasture barriers;
  • devices, tools and equipment in the field of telecommunications.

List of products subject to mandatory conformity approval

  • Electrical appliances and household equipment
  • for mechanizing food preparation, storage, and kitchen work
  • processing of bed linen, clothes and shoes - washing, ironing, drying, cleaning
  • cleaning and tidying of premises
  • maintaining and managing microclimate conditions in the air (with the exception of devices, tools and equipment included in the telecommunications system complex)
  • sanitary and hygienic
  • for hair, nail and skin care
  • audio and video equipment, devices, means and equipment for receiving television, radio broadcasting and radio communication signals (except those included in the telecommunications system complex)
  • sewing and knitting machines
  • power supplies, voltage stabilizers (except those included in the telecommunications system complex)
  • for gardening
  • for aquariums and garden lakes
  • electric pumps
  • light source and lighting equipment
  • electrical installation products
  • extension cords (wire extensions)
  • electronic computers - personal computers (except those included in the complex of telecommunication systems)
  • low-voltage equipment connected to personal electronic computers intended for household and office use (except those included in the telecommunications system complex)
  • insulated wires (including enameled or anodized), cables and cords (except communication cables)
  • other electrical circuit protection devices, reconnectors, circuit breakers, splitters and circuit breakers, fuses, relays, distribution devices, lightning rods, voltage limiters, circuit breakers with sudden voltage changes, current collectors, contactors, starters
  • electrical machines and tools, including electrically heated devices

Packaging

The label on the packaging must contain the name of the manufacturer and/or its trademark, the name and designation of the equipment (type, model, trade name), the date of manufacture and information about the conformity mark.

Marking

Marking must contain the following information:

  • nominal voltage or nominal voltage range (in volts);
  • if the nominal frequency is not indicated, the type of current;
  • nominal power consumption in watts or nominal current in amperes;
  • name of the country of manufacture of the equipment;
  • name and location of the manufacturer, name and location of the importing organization in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the name and location of the manufacturer's authorized representative, if any, contact telephone numbers, trademark or brand;
  • model (type) of the equipment;
  • date of manufacture of the equipment or information on the place and method of determining the date of registration on the equipment;
  • conformity mark confirmed by a certificate of conformity issued in the prescribed manner.

The conformity mark is affixed to the equipment itself, as well as to the accompanying operating documentation. If it is not possible to affix the conformity mark directly to the equipment, it may be affixed to the product packaging and included in the accompanying operating documentation.

The equipment must display information about its energy efficiency class.

Technical documentation

Technical documentation, stamps, and labels for equipment produced domestically and imported into the republic must include the name of the enterprise, address, and contact telephone numbers in the Uzbekistan language

When delivering equipment to the consumer, the following technical documentation must be included:

  • information about the equipment's functions;
  • equipment specifications and performance indicators;
  • if any safety precautions are required during installation, a detailed description thereof;
  • storage, transportation, and disposal rules and conditions;
  • information on corrective measures to be taken if a malfunction is detected;
  • information on the service life and the consumer's required actions upon expiration of this period, as well as information on the possible consequences if these actions are not taken;
  • information on the technical service addresses (mailing address) of the manufacturer (seller) and its authorized representative, as well as the person performing technical maintenance and repair of the equipment in the Republic of Uzbekistan;
  • instructions for the operation, decontamination, and disposal of equipment that generates toxic waste during operation;
  • manufacturer's warranty;
  • date of manufacture.

Technical documentation must be in paper form. A package of documents in electronic format may also be attached. Technical documentation included with household appliances may only be provided via electronic media.

Certificates issued before 10 October 2025 remain valid until their stated expiry.

To enter Uzbekistan market manufactures and importers must get approvals for Safety, EMC, RF and RoHS technical regulations.
