Turkmenistan launched Wi-Fi 7
Turkmenistan officially launched the next-generation Wi-Fi 7 (IEEE 802.11be) wireless network. Following the adoption of the regulatory framework and the expansion of international communication channels, the national operator Turkmentelecom, together with Altyn Asyr, has begun the mass deployment of Wi-Fi 7 equipment in key infrastructure facilities, business centers, and public spaces in Ashgabat, Arkadag, and all regional centers.
Infrastructure base and points of presence
The foundation for the network's deployment was Turkmentelecom's modernized fiber-optic backbone network. Over the past three years, the country's international internet bandwidth has increased more than tenfold, and the launch of a submarine cable under the Caspian Sea and the Serkhetabad-Herat line has ensured stable connectivity with global hubs.
Today, TELECOMWIFI Wi-Fi 7 access points are already operational in key locations:
