National Conformity Mark CUz

Uzbekistan CUz Conformity Mark

The new CUz (Conformity Uzbekistan) mark replaces the country's legacy system. This mandatory system is designed to elevate the competitiveness of Uzbek products in both local and global markets.

According to official Presidential Decrees, the "CUz" national conformity mark will take effect on January 1, 2027.

🔄 Key Changes and Deadlines

  • Mandatory Status: The CUz mark is strictly mandatory for all products falling under the scope of Uzbekistan's Technical Regulations. It is not required for products outside these regulations.
  • Replacing STZ: Voluntary STZ conformity mark is discontinued and fully replaced by the mandatory CUz mark starting January 1, 2027 (for all products falling under the scope of Uzbekistan's Technical Regulations).

⚡ Technical Regulations for Electrical Products

For manufacturers and importers of electrical and electronic equipment, the CUz mark will apply under the following main Technical Regulations of Uzbekistan:

  • Technical Regulation on the Safety of Low-Voltage Equipment.
  • Technical Regulation on the electromagnetic compatibility of technical equipment.
  • Technical Regulation on the safety of telecommunication network equipment.
  • Technical Regulation on the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) — entering into force on February 17, 2027 (read more details here).

📐 Appearance and Marking Rules

To comply with the upcoming regulations, the product must be stamped with the conformity mark before it is placed on the market. The marking process should be carried out by the manufacturer or their authorized representative.

The CUz mark should be applied directly to:

  1. The product itself (e.g., nameplate).
  2. The product packaging.
  3. Shipping documents only (only when physical application to the product is not possible).

⚖️ Regulatory Framework and Legal Base

The transition to the new system is governed by the following official acts:

  • Decree No. PF-67 (April 18, 2025): "On Measures to Stimulate Production, Exports, and Entrepreneurial Activity..." – This decree initiates the gradual shift away from STZ marking to the unified CUz safety mark (specifically in Paragraph 4(b)). Read the full text here.
  • Decree No. UP-25 (February 16, 2026): "On measures to accelerate reforms in the sphere of technical regulation..." – Clause 6(a) officially establishes the enforcement date as January 1, 2027. Read the official document here.
  • Draft Regulation on Conformity Assessment (Annex 2): Provides the official graphic descriptions, proportions, and precise application rules for the new CUz marking. Track the project details here.
